First Snow
By Jim Blair
This is an impressionistic view of a lone tree in a grassy field in late autumn after the first light snow. A stone wall appears in the foreground. Light snow sits on the bare limbs and upon the bending grass and in the barely visible field in the distance as light penetrates from a clearing sky. The painting conveys the simplicity of nature. The original was painted in acrylic on a stretched 12 x 9 frame.
